Margus and G4S Estonia at Youth Club
11 November 2009
In 2002, G4S Estonia founded a Youth Club, that was designed to provide children with access to recreational activities to help them to develop in their formative years.
The club bears the slogan: “I can help myself and others”, and is founded on strong principles such as friendship, education, adventure, crime prevention, good will and a healthy and athletic lifestyle. All of these values are stressed to the young members.
Since joining G4S 4teen, Margus Hunt has taken an interest in the club and G4S’s work with the initiative. The former junior discus and shot-put World Champion has attended summer camps, which are held for members of the Youth Club. He spends his time there meeting the young members, taking part in the activities, showing them how to throw the discus and imparting some of his experience and advice to those in attendance. At the most recent event Margus tried his hand at golf alongside Aleksander Tammert, Estonia’s Olympian at discus.
Margus keeps in touch with the club and really enjoys supporting the work G4S do: “I think it’s a great idea. The whole reason I took up my sport is because I had nothing to do in my town when I was growing up so, for this club to be proving exciting, fun and interesting activities for young people is amazing and I really like being a part of it.”
