Charly Suarez took home a silver medal in the Tammer Cup boxing championship in Tampere, Finland.
The featherweight fighter, powered through Russian opponent Anatoly Borkeev in the quarterfinals in a fantastic display of devensive skill.
“I felt I could beat him if I didn’t lose my focus. It was a game of endurance and he blinked at least twice,” Suarez said.
Charly went on to beat Finland’s Petteri Fjordholm in the semis, before taking on Finnish superstar Matti Koota in the final.
Next up for Charly will be the Asian Games, which will be held in Guangzhou, China next month.
