Obinna sends an update from his unique training experience
13 January 2011
This was my first Christmas away and it was fun. I spent half of the day with Coach Mills on the track where he was teaching me about running technique and other important things I need to know in sprints. Strangely I enjoyed training on Christmas day and I so much appreciate the effort and time Coach Mills gave to me. In the evening hour, Mr Anthony Gooden, from G4S Jamaica, invited me for dinner in their family house. We ate, drank and I had some good time with his family members. On New Years Eve one of my friends from Gambia who is training here like me, trained with me then I cooked us a great meal. The next day I went with Mr Alexander Johnson, from G4S Jamaica, and his family to the beach and had a great time. We ate some sea food, had some drinks, rode some horses, played around the beach and took lots of photos.
Training out here has been fine but tough. Coach Mills added some new training equipment last week, he also introduced a new pattern of training exercises it was definitely harder but good. But what I have noticed is that I am becoming stronger and getting more used to the training. We are training well and I am enjoying every bit of coach Glen Mills training method. I believe that my performance will definitely improve and progress me into London 2012 Olympic Games.
