1 July 2011
G4S 4teen’s Indian shooter Snigdha Manda is to receive training and coaching from one of India’s finest ever shooters in Pune. Anjalu Bhagwat, is credited for the increasing profile of the sport of shooting in India after a hugely successful 2002 Commonwealth Game in Manchester, England, where she won an incredible four gold medals.
Both a singles and pairs event winner in the Air Rifle and Small Bore Rifle events respectively, Anjalu Bhagwat, is also a recipient of India’s two highest honors conferred by the Government of India to sports personalities. Her achievements in the sport of shooting, considered by many to be an exclusive domain for men, have seen her inspire many talented youngsters such as Snigdha to enter the sport.
Snigdha will gain valuable experience and insight from one of her sporting heroes as she continues to increase her scores and improve upon her burgeoning talent. Her training begins at the beginning of July and with the National Championships in the same month, Snigdha will be keen to learn all she can in preparation for the event.
Hailing from New Delhi, Snigdha will be keen to progress through the junior ranks and begin to represent her country at higher levels of shooting. Her experiences with Anjalu Bhagwat will no doubt be very valuable as Snigdha begins the process to qualify for the chance to represent her country at London 2012.
